ABOUT
RAGDOLL LTD
Internationally-acclaimed
Ragdoll was founded by Anne Wood in 1985.
Ragdoll
is a world leader in the creation of entertainment that contributes
to the well-being of children.
ABOUT
THE WEBSITE
The website
is based on the characters from the popular television programme Brum,
created by Ragdoll Ltd. The award-winning company is also the creator
of Rosie and Jim, Tots TV and Teletubbies.
Brum
is an energetic, live-action comedy set in the crazy world of the Big
Town. The introduction of a website will enable children to learn more
about Brum's world, and to join their super-brave superhero in his on-line
adventures whenever they want.
SAFETY
ON THE WEB
Whilst
we encourage the interactive nature of on-line media, it is important
that parents are aware of how to safeguard their children's privacy
when using the web. We advise them to discuss with their children restrictions
regarding the on-line use of personal information.
Key
notes to parents:
WHAT
DOES THE SITE OFFER FOR USERS ?
Brum.tv
is the place in cyberspace where fans of Brum can come to see their
super-brave superhero. They can investigate different parts of the Big
Town, help Brum save the day in his interactive adventures and play
games whilst enjoying a safe and secure on-line environment.
The site
requires the use of Flash/Shockwave software. If you do not already
have this installed on your machine, you can check
your system by clicking here. Once installed the software will be
stored on your machine for future use on this and other sites.
HOW TO
USE THE SITE
Click on
Brum to enter the site. There may be a short loading time for some of
the animations and activities first time , however once the site has
fully loaded it will run more quickly and smoothly. The site has also
been designed to load much faster whenever you next return.
Once you have entered the site, navigation to the active areas in the
Big Town is controlled by clicking on the arrows at the edge of the
large map. Active areas are easily identified as flashing yellow spots
on the small map, or as pulsating outlines on the buildings in the large
map. Click on these areas to play the online adventures, visit characters
or read Brum's Big Town News.
During the interactive adventures , you will be able to watch the story
unfold by clicking on the flashing buttons, or watch the fun again by
clicking on the active yellow buttons. At certain points in the story,
children will be invited to help Brum by solving a puzzle or playing
a game. Don't worry if you can't finish each activity - Brum always
saves the day!
